An exploration in texture & colour

We are two sisters, Suzanne & Claire who live in Swansea close to the beautiful Swansea Bay with the glorious Gower Peninsula on our doorstep.

I discovered the joy of sewing in 2016 after watching The Great British Sewing Bee. It turned out to be addictive and a great way to relax. I love to look for gorgeous, colourful fabrics as much as making an item.

Claire moved back to Swansea in 2021 with her husband and mad cat Cleo. Claire has always loved any craft including jewellery making, sewing, painting & cross-stitch.

We love to go to vintage and second-hand shops. We both hate to throw things out and love to make items that can be used or repurposed to help with the global fight against plastic and waste.

We decided that Claire moving back to Swansea was the right time to join forces and share what we create with others.

Hope you enjoy.

Things to Note

Where possible Sister Makes like to use items that may otherwise have been thrown away.

Items such as fabric and beads may have been purchased from a 2nd hand store and reused in one our projects. If this is the case the items will have been properly cleaned and only new wires will have been used for the earrings.

Please note that where possible a description of the materials used is added to the information in the shopping cart but it is not always possible to know exactly what an older, repurposed item is made from.

In some cases packaging has been reused from items that we may have purchased so apologies if you receive your item in something that is not so Planet Friendly! Any new packaging used is recyclable or in the case of the organza bags can be re-gifted!

Above all please remember that all our products are hand made (and are not toys so unless specified not suitable for little ones!) - imperfections will hopefully be minor but if they are there then think of it as adding to the character of the piece!
